Sounds Like We’re Not Going To Listen To The Music Until 2021, The Doobie Brothers Postpone Reunion Tour Until Next Year

The long awaited Doobie Brothers’ long-awaited reunion with Michael McDonald is going to have to wait at least another year.

Yesterday, the band made the official announcement that its summer tour had been postponed to June 2021 over health concerns.

“This decision has been made with the health and safety of the Doobie Brothers’ fans, crew and local employees in mind,” the band said in a joint statement.

The 53-date tour was going to mark the 50th anniversary for the band and was going to be their first tour with McDonald since 1996.

The jaunt will now kick off in the same city, West Palm Beach, Fla., on July 17, 2021, and wrap Oct. 21 in New Orleans. Shows have been outright canceled but it appears their show in Mountain View is still on the schedule.

The band is also part of the 2020 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class, which moved its induction ceremony to November.
