Want to run or walk a half marathon for an amazing cause?  Team Ronald McDonald House can help you meet your endurance goals.  Want to help critically ill children and their families? You can help us make a difference in their lives. Team RMH is a three-month, endurance training program that helps individuals and families embark on a fitness goal while raising funds to benefit a local charity, Ronald McDonald House at Stanford. Season kicks off on August 12th. More info at www.teamrmh.com.

Abrazos and Books  
You are invited to “Abrazos and Books”, a Tribute to Young Scholars, on Saturday, August 7th, at the Wyndham Hotel, in San Jose. The 20th Annual Scholarship Reception is also a moving salute to those making a difference in the lives of others.  It’s the goal of Abrazos and Books to financially assist university bound high school seniors who live in Santa Clara County. Abrazos and Books shall also endeavor to contribute financially to children here and around the world who are victims of poverty, disability or major catastrophes. History Park
Here’s a fun family event at History Park on Saturday, August 14 from noon to 5 p.m. will honor World War II veterans and members of ‘the greatest generation’ and feature live big band music, swing dancing, World War II re-enactments and a Victory Parade.  Come and celebrate the 65th anniversary of the end of World War II with a 1945 Class Reunion photo.  Bring your memories of August 14, 1945, bring photographs to be scanned in the ‘Spirit of ‘45’ national virtual memorial.  Visit www.spiritof4t.org   Admission is free, parking is $6.
