I think back to the many traits I got from my Mom.
I don't forgive and forget easily...that would be a bad trait.
And I do love my soap operas...that would be a good trait.
Did you grow up like I did watching soap operas? I would come home from school
and my Mom and I would watch General Hospital, and then as I got older, I think
college, it was All My Children and Young and the Restless.
You couldn't record shows back then so it had to be live….so I must have had a lot of free time
as I have been watching Y&R I think since the day it went on.
And I still love it...in fact, will somehow squeeze it into my day no matter what, even if it means I go to be at 10:30 or 11...when I get up at 2-30 in the morning. Of all the soaps, I think this one has changed the least...same story line..and even some of the same actors. All My Children is of course gone..
But today is the anniversary of General Hospital. It went on in 1963. Did so love it until they got caught up in the mob...and even when I try to get into it again..I really cant.
But boy did it give a start to some big names...Demi Moore, Jack Wagner, Richard Dean Anderson, Rick Springfield, John Stamos, Emma Samms, Mark Hamil, Finola Hughes (shes still on) and Tia Carrere. And of course Genie Francis and Tony Geary (also still on)
I watched it when every single one of these folks were/on..
And because of my Mom and her love for daytime soaps, I now watch just about all nighttime soaps.
Now, I just need to work on that other trait...forgiving and forgetting….LOL
