Loved our chat this morning about grandparents.
The things they can or could do that most of us at least will never be good at…
Cooking from scratch, sewing, canning, ironing, meeting people in person and talking to them, haggling, and writing letters.
I had just one grandparent growing up…my Moms Mom. She lived with us from the time I was a baby until she died. I was about 16. She taught me a lot of life lessons. My girls were lucky enough to have my Dad until just 2 years ago. And while my Dad was great on life lessons he couldn’t work his remote control and or his VCR. He didn’t even have a DVR but I used to buy him old cowboy movies and he loved them, if he could get play them. I can’t tell you how many times Victoria had to run over and it was a matter of him not pushing one button. We even wrote a 1-2-3 instruction sheet for him and it still didn’t help. So yeah, grandma and grandpa may not be able to program the DVR or video chat, but they can do so many more important things. You probably have a similar story. What was that one thing they just couldn’t figure out. Bet when you think about it, it will make you smile.
This might make you smile too. We still have one last family road trip to Disneyland. What I cant figure is …why we haven’t given it away yet. When you sign up, you’re told to listen at 7:10 and when you hear your name you have 30 minutes to call. So if you sign up, why aren’t you listening? LOL . And doesn’t anyone know you? Why aren’t they calling you to tell you that you won!!! Good luck tomorrow..
