So how do you like watching the Super Bowl ?

With a crowd of people or by yourself.

I'm a loner for the Super Bowl. I love the whole experience...the pre game,

the game, the half time, the post game and I dont want to be disturbed.

Sounds terrible, doesnt it...but you go to partys...and there I am on the couch with the

guys and after a while they get sick of me...LOL as all of my friends are in the kitchen.

I remember years ago....Dallas-Pittsburgh...mid 199s I think. I got invited to a party...huge Steeler fans..and I back then was really a die hard Cowboys fans.It was really a close game. Cowboys ended up winning...and I was not a fan favorite...I was cheering at all "their" wrong times. I could tell they were so fed up with me.

So after that, I decided you never go to parties when you're not rootng for the same team as the hosts.

And I also decided...like the Oscars...I like to watch all by myself. No interruptions but for the ones I give myself.

Miss the good food though.

I'll make myself a plate of nachos...nothing fancy.

I have a frozen Weight Watchers Pizza which is no Digiorno-not even close- and a salad of some sort.

And probably wish I was at someone's party!!!

BTW..if you havent gone shopping yet....other than the pizza and chicken wings..

you're supposed to get potato chips, avocados, tortilla chips, pretzils, popcorn, mixed nuts..

Dont see anything about salad....

I want to start by asking "Who does this? But I think I already have the answer.

"Stupid people" The other night when Facebook and Instagram went down. I think it was for 40 minutes folks in the Eastbay and SanFrancisco called 9-1-1 . True story!!

A 9-1-1 dispatcher got five different calls asking when the two social media sites would be back up and running. She was not happy.....and reminded them this is not life threatening emergency.

She should have said...why dont you call 4-1-1 and get Mark Zuckerberg's number and ask him!!

By the way...can you still call 4-1-1-?

I dont know if we call this the cat with ten lives...or the cat with 8 lives because he just used up

one of his 9.

A guy in Florida found his cat in the road...run over by a car. Bart was/is his name. The owner

rushed him to the hospital....vet said he was dead on arrival.

Owner takes him home....buries him in the backyard...and has a lovely service.

5 days later, the cat showed up outside the home expecting dinner.

Yes..Bart wasn't dead. He woke up from his "nap", dug his way out of his grave and

wanted to eat!! The vet says he'll probably lose his eye...but other than that...hes as good as alive!!!!

And this cat lover loves it!!!

Ever since we started this segment at 6:45 called "Isn't that nice" we have found the

best stories.

Like the one today....involving two young football fans who have reminded us that winning

isn't everything.

Dates back to the big game 2 weeks ago between the Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers.

Remember the game was in Seattle..and a Green Bay fan took his 10 year old...in hopes it would help him recover from the death of their 10 year old dog. Yes, he had that dog from when he was born.

They ended up sitting next to some Seattle fans (of course)...a dad and his 12 year old daughter who had just lost her cat.

The two kids became fast friends....and when the Seahawks won in overtime, it was the little girl who started crying because she was secretly hoping the Packers would win to cheer up the boy.

But wait there's more. The boy, on the way home, told his Dad he was glad his Packers lost because the girl had lost her cat even more recently than his dog dying...so she needed the win more than he did.

Dad was so overcome he wrote a note on Craigs list...with the title "Thank you Seattle, From a Packers fan.

So yes...winning isn't everything

and yes..Isn't that Nice!!!

You ever leave your child somewhere?

Maybe I should rephrase that.

Did you ever FORGET your child?

Dont want to relive the terrible tragedies of babies left in cars.

Just ones that turn out okay...like the one in Austria this weekend.

Believe it or not a Dad left his baby on the subway. By the time he realized, the train was already leaving the station. In a panic he phoned police and said "Help, I forgot my baby in the subway."

Officials say most of the subway calls are about leaving behind an umbrella or bag, but this case demanded "a lot more attention". You think? The baby was found safe and returned to his Dad with the message "You'd better not tell your wife".

So again..did you ever forget a child? My cousin once left for Oakland with 2 of his 3 children in the car..Yep, one was left behind. He rushed back. Your story. I cant remember one, but you might!

No judging BTW....Just maybe a story that turned out okay and you can now laugh about!!!

10 years of Sam and Lissa. That's a Wow in Radio land.
Although I just think it's Sam and Lissa and it's no big deal.
We hit it off the day we met. And I remember when KBAY was in San Francisco for a year…Sam was doing our public affairs…he still is and I would get so excited to see him every few days. Unbeknownst to either of us, our boss at the time would walk by and eaves drop on our conversations…and walk off saying "they've got to do a morning show together". So 10 years later, here we are. We tried to figure out how many shows. Minus vacation…48 weeks x10…equals A LOT. Neither one of us takes sick days…so the number is still the same.

So much has happened over the years. I can't even remember it all..
Great interviews…Tony Bennett…my love Simon Cowell, great trips like Disneyland. Kelsey Grammar aka Frazier falling off the stage and us looking at each other… wondering if this was real. I broke out in laughter…naturally I remember Christina came down with us once, and Sam snuck her into the media party I think we said she was our assistant…LOL even if she was just 18. Oh, and what about the time at Santana Row. The Christmas tree lighting and Santa fell off the stage. Maybe it's us!!
Or the time, Sam had been with me for just a few days and our traffic reporter dropped the F bomb.

Sad times. yes …we had those..or I had those. Mike died almost 8 years ago. Sam had never met him. But I remember when he died so suddenly and I took off so quickly, Sam became my protector. Wouldn't let anyone call me.. said I needed to be alone.

Happy times…so many. On the air..We are just ready to go. You turn that microphone on and the only people who exist are Sam, Lissa and the listeners. There is no way to count the laughs, or my "snorts"..or how many times I've said boobies.

Such good times…Such a perfect match for me..27 years at KBAY, I've had a few partners..but there's never been any doubt that Sam's the one.. We have our moments when we want to kill each other LOL…heck it's a marriage…a work marriage…but we always come back for another day. We love each other, we respect each other, we both love our community And we love this show called Sam and Lissa.

Sam and I had one big laugh over this early today..

Time for you to do the same.

We had this on the 5-45 OMG when we figured the kids were sleeping.

So Monday, this woman is heading to her car to go to work. Don't know what city she is in. It

doesn't matter, it could happen anywhere.

Her neighbor calls her over..says he needs to speak to her for a minute.

He proceeds to tell her that Sunday night he could her and her husband having wild whoopie.

Did I spell that right?...s-e-x..yeah I did.

He said his 8 year old son heard it too...and then his little girl started asking him so many questions that he finally gave her the birds and the bees talk.

The woman is thinking...s-e-x last nite? We didnt do that...She told the guy she and her husband were plahing Mario Kart. Apparently she was losing repeatedly and got so upset with her husband every time he was about to hit her kart with a shell, that she yelled out The F bomb...and I guess she did it over and over again.

She apologized to the neighbor for having such a potty mouth and for making him give his little girl the "talk"...and he said it was all good...because now he can use it to spark a conversation about good sportsmanship...

LOL...correct?

I'm still taken aback by the new England Patriots player

who was driving home with his wife early yesterday after a night of partying for the big win over the Colts and simply saved a life.

I'm not sure defensive tackle Vince Wilfork did something the rest of us wouldnt but

the point is he had the opportunity and he seized it..

This big guy and he is huge...6-2 325 pounds, drove by a Jeep on its side.

Before police even got there...he stuck his head in the Jeep...told the woman inside to stay calm..dont panic and he literally pulled her out with one hand....a big hand..but one hand.

Police then arrived. She was arrested right then and there for drunk driving. And Wilfork and his wife left when he was told there was nothing more that he could.

He said driving home he and his wife that winning the game was great but saving a life is what life is all about.

Had never even heard of Vimce Wilfork before this morning. But Im glad I know of him now.

Ive never saved a life..he is one "up" on me!! and a big "up" that is!!

He's the type of guy the NFL needs to clone!!!

Was gone this weekend so I'm a few days late on my TV watching.

Finally saw Parenthood last nite and I do think its the first time this season

I did not bawl my eyes out...As sweet as ever....but none of it sad. I can see they're

tying up every story line since the finale is in 2 episodes. And I know what you're all thinking

but I am holding out a little hope Zeek doesn't die the last night as the baby is born. Any chance of that or is it just wishful thinking?

And what do you think of this? Fox is doing a live version of Grease with Julianne Hough from Dancing with the Stars as Sandy and Vanessa Hudgens is playing bad girl Rizzo. No other stars picked yet. Any ideas. It will be on next January.

And NBC isn't giving up on live stage shows. Theyve just bought the rights to the Wiz and The Music Man

Nothing gets a bigger "awwwwwww" from me than a great dog story.

Here's yours for today... Meet the McNesby family of Tracy. Dad used to be stationed overseas in Japan and while there bought a rare Shiba Inu. His family adored it.. Hana was her name.

3 years ago, while the family was out..someone opened their gate and that was the last they say of Hana.

They looked and looked and looked. Nothing.

This week someone in Oakland found a dog wandering around Oakland....and took it to Animal Services. Guess what? The McNesby's had put a microchip in Hana. Hana is now home where she belongs. Yes, those microchips are wonderful.

I hope you have one in your pet..and a big by the way about your pets..your dogs and cats. If they're due vaccines, lets say a Bordatella, Rabies, Feline Leukemia, or a 3 or 4 in one, do yourself a favor and Happy Hollow (and don't we love them) a favor and go to the vaccination clinic Sunday 11-3 at the Evergreen Veterinary Clinic 1611 East Capitol Expressway in San Jose. Your $20 fees for the vaccinations will pay it forward. Yes your $20 fee will vaccinate two domestic dogs living near the Ethiopian Wolf against the rabies, preventing the outbreak of this disease to the wolves- the rarest and most endangered canid in the world with less than 450 remaining.

It's a win-win...and I so thank the Evergreen Vet Clinic...which happens to be my clinic for Daisy, Chloey and Tobey Tobes.

Isnt this great to hear....

that we're getting all sorts of ugliness from our cell phones and why? From constantly looking down

at our phones.

What kind of ugliness? Are you ready?

Constantly bending your neck leads to sagging skin drooping jowls and wrinkles at the bottom of your neck that really shouldnt be showing up for many years down the road.

And dont think you're not looking down at your phone that often...so you don't need to worry about this LOL..

The dermatologist who did the study says the average person looks down at his or her phone up to 150 times a day.

This will make you think next time you get a call or a text or someone at lunch asks something that you want to google right then and there.

Cell Phones...damned if you do...damned if you don't!!!

I can't even remember what life was like before them. Can you?

Although maybe we should pull out some pictures...and see how much more attractive we looked....ha ha

I love everything about San Jose but the fact that we have gone from 1400 officers to under 900.

It's not good...and there doesn't seem to be any quick turnaround. I had a scary situation about 5 years ago...with someone banging on my door about11 at night. Wouldn't stop...I called police and I think it was over an hour before they showed. Just not enough officers out there. Thank goodness I was OK.

So what do you think about the story I saw on KPIX Channel 5. A neighborhood in the Almaden Valley has had so many burglaries of late...close to 40..that they have pooled their money and hired a private security service that can be on scene not in an hour..but 5 minutes. 60 residents each chip in $40 a month...and they love it. They like the response they've had...and feel safer and more secure.

The patrol car drivers aren't armed and I'm not sure what they'd do if they caught a burglar in progress...I hope and assume the police..but if they can serve as a deterrent....I've got to ask why not?

I'm not sure city officials are happy with this or even encouraging in, but what do you think? Would you pay $40 a month for your own neighborhood watch? Good idea, bad idea...could lead to___?

Cant wait to see what you say...

Lottery tickets...You buy them? How often?

Sam buys one I think every week.

How many years have they been selling them in California.. 10, 20?

I for some reason never buy one un4ess the jackpot is crazy high...

Why would I just want 10 million or even 1 million?...LOL

Actually, I am always kind of embarrassed to buy them. You too?

And that is also ridiculous.

But every time I see a story like this morning...I think...I really should be buying lottery tickets.

Evangelina Reyes bought a scratcher ticket at a liquor store in Milpitas and just won a million dollars.

And guess what...a month ago she won 1-thousand dollars.

And what is she doing with her million....which doesn't need to be spread out over months and months or years and years...

Shes paying off her mortgage, paying off her kids' car loans and taking a trip to Hawaii.

Good for her.

The most you've ever won? And just what did you spend it on..

Come on..convince me to start buying lottery tickets on a routine basis.

Talking trends this morning...either "things" like fanny packs or

"behaviors" like dressing up that you wish would come back in style.

Am I the only who wishes we'd dress up to go out? No, not all the time. Heck I'm wearing jeans today...nice jeans..but they're still jeans. But I'm sort of tired of looking at jeans where ever I go.

People now wear jeans everywhere...to church and synagogue, expensive restaurants, the theater....

where else?

Years ago, you got dressed up to go some place nice and you certainly didn't wear jeans to a Place of Worship. I know, jeans are so comfy. In fact, Sam and I made a pact the other day that for now on, if we want to wear jeans to work and it's not yet Friday, we can wear them. Yes, believe it or not Sam and I on the radio still come dressed nicely every morning. Our hair is done..LOL. I've got my make up on, sometimes heels and we have clothes on that "you'd want to be seen in".

I actually think you work better when you're dressed up. Come in wearing sweats, which neither of us has ever done, and it's hard to stay focused.

So yes, jeans are okay for behind the mic at KBAY, but they need to turn into slacks or for me, a skirt or dress for dinner at least at a place like La Foret or The Basin....and definitely for a Play

Am I wrong? Go ahead, my feelings wont be hurt...LOL

Every morning until the 24 you've got a shot at 4 tickets.

But there's also KBAY.Com and the KBAY Mobile App which you really need to get. It is so cool!

Love the reminder this morning that now is the time to start online dating.

that there are more new faces on dating sites than any other time of the year.

And that if you start online dating in January, you are 15% more likely to find someone.

Case in point....ME!!

Now ignore this if you're already attached...lol

but I love to tell the story of how I found Jeff.

5 years after Mike died, the girls said to me..."Mom, we think its time you started dating." In other words they were tired of going out with me all the time.

I was never going to date again but Christina said she would do the "dirty work" for me. All I had to do was write a short profile.

So I did and she did. I still wasnt happy with the idea of online dating. And unbeknownst to me,

she using the password she set up actually corresponded with a few of the online daters.

Days passed...weeks passed...and I will admit I hated the whole procedure. I felt bad that I didnt get

a lot of "hits". People online can be mean.I went out a few times. No disasters..but no one I liked either and then I saw Jeff's profile. I took the bold step of e mailing him. Yes, I made the first move.

Well, just about 3 years later, we are still a "Match" and that won't be changing.

So what do I say about online dating....take the bad with the good.

And go for it!!!
