Forbes Magazine out with its list of most powerful celebrities…
Was Lady Gaga last year…She's now number 5.
So who is it…Jennifer Lopez!!!!
They say a few years ago she was known more as Ben Afflecks girlfriend…Her movies flopped…and her albums weren't selling but look at her now… She made $52 million dollars last year….I'm trying to remember what came first..her comeback or Idol?
And now she's saying she might not want a third season at the Judges table. Who needs it I guess with a line of clothes at Kohls, big time endorsement deals with L'Oreal and Gillette, twins and a 24 year old boyfriend!!!
Number two on the celebrity power list…and this one I think is surprising . OPRAH. Even with her rough year, she is still making a ton of money…thanks to her magazine, and spin off shows like Dr. Phil and Rachael Ray.
Number 3 is Justin Beiber…Yeah, at age 18!!
Rihanna is 4, Kim Kardashian 7 and still my favorite Simon Cowell has gone from 9 to 18. Maybe Brittney Spears will move him back up the ladder!!!
Can you think of anyone else who has it all going like Jennifer Lopez does right now?
Probably not…

You going on vacation this summer?. Working crazy hours, Sam and I live for vacations…His big thing is usually skiing in the winter. I wait for the summer sun…
And boy will I be getting it. I'm going to Cabo with Christina in June. Finally making use of that time share I so hate!!! Cant use it in Hawaii..which is what I bought it for but its great for Cabo. And next month, her boyfriend is graduating from Cal Poly so I'll be going down there as well but that's just a quick weekend thing..
We were talking this morning about hotel rooms. The view is what people tend to check first. You had lots of other ideas on Facebook earlier.
A quarter of people actually take vacations by themselves. I don't know if that's because they have to or they want to..LOL!!! 27 percent are going to a family reunion this year, 10 percent on a cruise, 6 percent to a sporting event. Your plan?
And is this you? Half don't check e mail on vacation but over half do check Facebook. I do both!!!
What do you say we just all pack our bags and take off..
Sounds great, doesn't it?

What's in a name? I guess it depends on who's the new pop or tv star…or what show is big with young people. This morning the Social Security Administration released the most popular names for the last year… Sophia and Jacob…13th year that Jacob was the top boy name…but for the girls last year it was Isabella or Bella which Ive always thought was darling. I may be dumb on this one…where did Sophia come from?
But I know where the second most popular boys name came from It's Mason which happens to be the name of Kourtney Kardashian's little boy.
Also in the top five for boys and girls….William, Jayden, and Noah
And Emma, Olivia and Ava.
Not so many Sam's and Lissa's anymore..LOL!!! And for the first time since 1948..theres been a noticeable drop in Michael. What other names have you noticed have gone by the wayside?
Here are two names they say are moving the fastest in popularity
Briella and Brantley. Briella is one of the stars of Jerseylicious and Glam Fairy and Brantley is a country star. Cool names though don't you think?

2 favorites from this morning as we remember Mom!!!
3 lessons she taught us…
1.Stand up Straight
2.Speak Clearly
3.Keep your reputation clean.
Would you like to add a 4th or maybe a 5th?
And my 3 favorite quotes
-
"A mother is a person who, seeing there are only 4 pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie"
-
"A mother is neither cocky, nor proud, because she knows the school principal could call at any moment to report that her child had just driven a motorcycle through the gym.
-
"After a big lunch, it's good to take Mom on a nice walk. The dishes will wait for her until she returns".
Good ones…right? Happy Mothers Day!!!!
And feel free to share if you've got another one. I think we all love reading them and can so relate!!!

Oh, the places you will go…
How about Gilroy and the South Valley Community Church.
You know how I love to be here, there and everywhere…love to emcee special events…love this community called the Santa Clara Valley….but my role tomorrow night I admit is a first. I am a Judge for the Gong Show…benefitting the youth program…
I've been told I get to be the nice Judge….but you know me…Who knows what will really happen tomorrow night..LOL… Maybe you can join me….all for a good cause…my favorite group of them all young people... General Admission prices are fairly in expensive…$10…$5 for 11 and under…You even get a pasta dinner made by the West Side Grill!!! VIP tables…(up close and personal seat 8 and are going for $200) and instead of pasta you get BBQ!!!
So lets meet at South Valley Community Church tomorrow nite…Starts at 6…ends at 9. Hey..you'll be home in time for the Blue Bloods Season Finale.
Friday nite date…you and me!!!

So if you were with us this morning…you know as Sam now does
"Mothers Day" is this weekend. I think I mentioned it 3 maybe 4 times an hour!!!
Mothers Day…Who really has the day off! Not Mom. 6 out of 10 dinner reservations are made by Mom. The other 4 are at home cooking dinner LOL!!!
Over 8 in 10 Mothers say they devote many hours of Mothers Day to the other Moms in their lives…ie mothers in law and grandmothers.
Over 7 out of ten actually have to celebrate with more than 2 other mothers in their families…preparing gifts and meals for grandmothers, mothers in law and all the caretakers in the lives of their own children.
So lets be honest here…what started as a day to celebrate Moms, in reality has become a day with lots of chores attached to it.
Maybe we can get Fathers Day off…That would never work..LOL!!!

Handy reference material next time you wake up in a bad mood (Sam-LOL)
No seriously, we all do…..
Things that can help (Sam-) Oh…he's going to slap me…LOL!!!
Talking to a stranger can help. They say even short interactions with someone new can put you in a better mood.
Talk to someone in a good mood (Lissa). And yes…happy people are pretty much the most annoying thing in the world when you're not happy (ask Sam)….but its true that happiness like depression can be contagious. Being around happy people really does wear off!!!
And know you're not the only one!!! 1 in 10 people suffer from mood disorders.
You can thank me later!!!

Last two nights of the VOICE….Finals tonite and then tomorrow nite the winner will be crowned…I like this show but I never see it because it's up against Dancing.
But I'll watch tomorrow. I'm infamous for never watching a show until the last night. Ask Sam!!!
And I'm already in mourning knowing that Desperate Housewives is now down to its final show…. Have to stay up really late next Sunday as it's a two hour finale.
Private Practice and Greys Anatomy also have their finales next week.
Dancing with the Stars ends on the 22nd. And Revenge on May 23rd. I'm not sure how they're going to keep that show going…Last weeks episode a little too confusing for me!!!
Hey..did you hear about that little girl ..a first grader…6 year old Elspeth Beanie Mar? During lunch time last week at her elementary school..her best little friend started choking on a piece of food…Beanie immediately performed the Heimlich Maneuver…and out popped a piece of apple. Elspeth said to her little friend" I saved your life" the little girl said yes you did and then they finished eating their lunch…like nothing happened.
Turns out Elspeth learned the Heimlich by watching the Disney Channel…A.N.T Farm.
Don't you think Disney should send her to Disneyland..with her little friend?. I do!!!

Here we go….that time of year…and Sam and I love it..
We get to take the show on the road.
Yep…festival time…
Starting tomorrow in Mt View for A La Carte & Art downtown on Castro Street, between Evelyn Ave. and Church St. Sam and I will be set up from 11-3 in the big yellow KBAY Booth on Castro by Mercy Street…I think that was last years location too… Last year though it wasn't on Cinco de Mayo….and if there's one event Sam and I like it's Cinco de Mayo .And wait till you see what we have planned. And if you can't come by take us where you are going via 94.5… quite mobile!!!! LOL!!!!
Sunnyvale, Fremont, Los Gatos. We'll be making the rounds this summer so hopefully we'll bump into each other here or there.
By the way when you're drinking your margaritas tomorrow… yes , it's a must for
Cinco De Mayo….here's a story to impress your family and friends. While most think the drink originated in Tijuana…I'm going with this one…that socialist Margarita Sames of Dallas made the first margarita during a vacation with friends in Acapulco. One of the guys there, Tommy Hilton liked it so much he put the drink on the bar menu in his hotels…and yes..the rest is Margarita History!!!!
And yes..I always want salt on mine. You?

So Im sure you've all seen the picture of the mom who must be the tannest woman in the world….44 year old Patricia Krentcil of New Jersey….If you haven't …she's a blonde woman who looks like she went swimming in a pool of chocolate. She tans in a tanning booth at least 20 times a month.
She was arrested and charged with child endangerment when her 5 year old daughter showed up to school with a sunburn…and told her little pals that she "went tanning with Mommy".
Patricia claims she didn't put the 5 year old into a tanning booth but did take her to the tanning salon…she claims tons of Moms take their children in…
Well..as you know..I tan!! I know..I know…I've heard it all…But I tan just once a week..if that. If I've been out in the sun naturally I don't go in. I don't tan my face. I put a towel over it..I wear heavy duty tanning lotion. I go to the Dermatologist once a year to get a body-check.
But what concerns me about this story is the fact that we are all so caught up in how Patricia looks…and what she's probably doing to her body that weve forgotten about what got her arrested… her possible poor parenting choices...

Had fun with this today…the survey on how many people can't do basic household repairs. I excluded myself right away because I can't do anything….and that's even cooking dinner…which is why I so fit the stereotype of the Jewish Princess who makes dinner by making reservations.
But let's see about you…
Half don't know how to install a faucet.
14% don't even know how to do step one….turning off the water in the house
1 in 3 don't know how to install a light fixture
Half cant replace a broken zipper…including 2 of 3 men.
And 3 out of ten don't know how to change a tire…including near half of all women.
So what's your expertise…or are you with me…excluding yourself from this survey!!!!

Remember when we were growing up and our Moms looked and seemed so old?
They did didn't they? Please tell me I'm not alone. But I compare myself now to my Mom when she was my age and I am so much hipper..LOL .
And I even look at pictures of me from 20 years ago and I am so much better looking now. Does that sound egotistical but I bet you do as well.
So what do you think about this study from a British Clothing line that says women hit their fashion prime at age 35. I'm thinking older.
Let's compare…
1 in 3 women got more comfortable with their appearance in their 30s…1 in 10 in their 40s.
1 in 20 claimed they didn't feel they hit their prime until age of 56…Now you're talking!!!
1 in 10 say their confidence in their body shape grew with age.
So what age did you hit your prime..maybe you haven't yet.. I'm going with my 50s…
And thank goodness, I'm still in that decade..LOL!!!
SO what age are you going to give?
What's the saying …older but better!!!!
