You might still be stinging from the loss of Robin Williams. Suicide seems so preventable, but we're often helpless to stop the pain.
What can you say about someone's losing a son or daughter to suicide besides, "Never let it happen again?" My childhood friend Mary Jeanne Miller and her husband hope to shine a light into the darkness of depression after their treasured son, Jake took his life a few years ago.
They've been walking in his name at the Out of the Darkness event on the 21st. I donated today.

Were you lucky enough to know Morgan Hill's BROOKE BAILEY? She loved her Sobrato High students, being a community activist & philanthropist, and most of all--motherhood. Please celebrate her life at a very special memorial concert this Sunday 5:30 - 7:30 at the Morgan Hill Amphitheater.
I am completely shocked and saddened to hear the news of the passing of SURVIVOR'S lead singer, Jimi Jamison from a heart attack on Sunday. He and the band had just performed the Cancert Benefit in Morgan Hill the night before, raising thousands of $$.
Happy Labor Day! Isn't it about the food, food, food? But first the gardening. Oh! I'm working off the loads of goodies that our sister station's morning star, Marla Davies dished out at her awesome wingding Saturday.
It's a great time to share this special, touching video moment too--a reminder how precious life is...
This is why we walk...to End Alzheimer's. Will you help me raise awareness, funds, and HOPE? Join me Saturday 10/11 for a short 3-miles then lunch! Click>http://act.alz.org/goto/KBAY or just reply here!
Miriam Claire Coelho ChippYou nailed it, Jona Denz-Hamilton! Dee Douglasoh gosh yes! those stupid pens! changing the cartridges always ensured you had blue fingers for at least a day and then they ALWAYS leaked no matter what you did to prevent it! Zatanna ChavezIs that chalk? But what is that wooden thing with wires? My 10 yr old used crayons in kindergarten and part of 1st grade! Michael DeanThe wooden chalk thing was used in music class chalkboards for making musical staves (staffs) to write musical notes on.....at least what I had always seen it used as in school. Dianne DrautRemember "flesh colored" crayons! Rhonda CallenI so miss gold stars! I wonder if I would get more done if I made a star chart for myself. Clark ReidThe chalk holder also was for making the staff for writing music on the blackboard. I hated the fountain pens...leftys just got ink all over their hands and their papers...it looked terrible.
