I hope you had a great 4th of July. I slept in until nearly noon today to try to catch up after all the festivities!
Don't you feel proud and humbled by our veterans? These two handsome military men were in the Morgan Hill Parade. The serviceman on the left fought in Viet Nam and, on the right is Al, who was a Marine during the Korean War.
If you were at the big Morgan Hill Parade, I hope I "captured" your wave on my camera while I made my way around the parade route. Check back for my edits of my many, many shots of this great American tradition!
One more day till Fireworks Day, as I've called it since I was 3 or 4.
But there's so much more going on all around the Bay Area. Sam and Lissa couldn't talk enough about the San Jose Bacon Festival! www.sanjosemade.com/bacon-festival-2014
You can join Lissa and me at the Morgan Hill Parade, starting at 9am
for the pre-parade entertainment, parade starts at 10am.
Sit on Monterey Road to hear me as your personal announcer.
Lissa's in car #97 and I'm in a car near the end, #125. http://www.mhfreedomfest.com
Great news for downtown San Jose: thanks to our Rotary Club celebrating its 100th birthday, members are funding a fantastic FREE fireworks display in Discovery Meadow. http://rotaryfireworks.org.
You're invited to join Lissa Kreisler and me at my favorite Fourth of July tradition: The big Morgan Hill Freedom Fest. I'll be your announcer on Monterey St. near 2nd St. Wave to us--LISSA KREISLER will be in car #97 and smile for my camera when I come around in car #125!

I scoured the internet for some sites that make planning easy.

Five years ago today, you might remember at around 2pm, we were hearing reports of MICHAEL JACKSON'S critical condition. Earlier that day we learned that FARRAH FAWCETT had passed away. I remember reporting on the air several times that there was still hope for Michael--SIGH... I'll bet you remember where YOU were too...
